Ride to promote Grand History Trail a success

I recently returned from a six-day, group cycling trip in support of the Grand History Trail. Ten or so of us left York on Sept. 5 to ride (and drive – I spent some time in the support vehicle) along the proposed route and raise awareness for the project.

We’re thrilled about the amount of coverage we received on the ride. Here’s a roundup of some of the articles:

The York Daily Record: “Riders leave York on mission to get attention, support for a trail to connect Pa., Maryland and D.C.”

The Baltimore Sun: “Grand History Trail could connect local cyclists to paths throughout the region”

Gettysburg Times: “Bicyclists arrive in Gettysburg on proposed Grand History Trail”

WITF.org: “5 cyclists ride 300 miles to advocate for bike trail”

The Fulton Post: “Bicyclists want route through City Dock”

Also, if you’re interested in learning more about the project, I’ll be speaking at the York Rotary Club meeting 11:45 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Yorktowne Hotel. Learn more here.
